NAT Grade 6 Competencies Students Need To Develop

The National Achievement Test or NAT in short is a standardized test given to elementary and high school students in the Philippines. The test is aimed to assess students achievement in the different subject areas and their teachers effectiveness.

Teachers face the dilemma as to what reviewer they have to provide their students. But there's nothing to worry about if they only know the competencies to master. So, on this post, I would like to share the competencies in Filipino, Mathematics, English, Science, and Araling Panlipunan/HEKASI with all the teachers who want to get a higher MPS or Mean Percentage Score.

Filipino Competencies

1. Nagagamit sa pangungusap ang panghalip, pang-uri, pangdiwa, pang-abay, pangatnig, at pang-akop.
2. Nagagamit ang uri ng pangungusap ayon sa gamit.
3. Natutukoy ang kahulugan ng salita (kasingkahulugan at kasalungat).
4. Natutukoy ang pangunahing kaisipan at mahalagang detalye sa binasa.
5. Nagagamit ang panipi at kuwit sa tuwirang sinabi ng tauhan.
6. Nagagamit sa pangungusap ang pang-abay at pang-ugnay.
7. Nagagamit ang uri ng panlapi sa pagbubuo ng pandiwa.
8. Natutukoy ang pangunahing diwa, sanhi at bunga sa kuwentong binasa.
9. Nailarawan ang katangian ng tauhan batay sa kilos at pananalita.
10. Napagsunod-sunod ang mga pangyayari sa kwento.
11. Nakapagbigay ng palagay sa maaaring kalabasan ng mga pangyayari batay ikinikilos ng tauhan.
12. Nasusuri ang mga detalye na nagpapaliwanag ng buong diwa.
13. Nagagamit ang grapikong pantulong sa pag-unawa ng teksto.
14. Napupunan nang wasto ang purmolaryong pampaaralan tulad ng ID at kard na pang-aklatan.
15. Naiisalin (transcode) ng pasulat ang mga impormasyong ipinahihiwatig ng mga grapikong pantulong sa teksto.

Mathematics Competencies

1. Computation of rational numbers
2. Solve word problems on rational numbers.
3. Identify congruent polygons.
4. Solve problems on measurements.
5. Interpret graphs.
6. Interpret measurement data.

English Competencies

1. Use verbs in the simple present tense.
2. Use adverbs of manner.
3. Use reflexive pronouns and possessive pronouns.
4. Identify simple sentences.
5. Note details in the selection.
6. Predict outcomes based on the selection.
7. Infer the general mood of the selection.
8. Sequence events in the selection.
9. Use verbs that agree with indefinite pronouns.
10. Use degrees of comparison of adverbs.
11. Use degrees of comparison of irregular adjectives.
12. Use adjectives in a series.
13. Use prepositions or prepositional phrases.
14. Identify the main idea/theme of selection.
15. Determined the cause-effect based on a given selection.
16. Draw conclusion based on the selection.
17. Identify supporting details to justify a conclusion.
18. Distinguish fact from opinion.

Science Competencies

1. Identify the major parts of a body system and their functions.
2. Explain how a body system works.
3. Classify vertebrates in 5 sub-classes.
4. Describe the characteristics of living things for survival.
5. Describe the characteristics of different kinds of plants.
6. Differentiate physical from chemical change.
7. Describe different characteristics of planets.
8. Present the feeding interrelationship among living things.
9. Illustrate the interdependence of plants, animals for gasses.
10. Explain effect of changes in materials to environment.
11. Identify energy formula and their uses.
12. Identify factors that affect motion of an object.
13. Describe characteristics of earth's interior layer.
14. Describe characteristics of stars and how group of stars are useful to people.

HEKASI Competencies

1. Naipagmalaki ang katangiang pisikal ng Pilipinas.
2. Napapahalagahan ang uri ng pamumuhay ng mga unang Pilipino.
3. Nabibigyang halaga ang kalagayan ng pamumuhay ng Pilipino noong Ikatlong Republika.
4. Naipagkakapuri ang mga mamamayang Pilipino.
5. Napapahalagahan ang mga matatalinong paggamit at pangangalaga ng likas na yaman.
6. Napapahalagahan ang bahaging ginagampanan ng pamahalaan at mamamayan sa kabutihan ng bansa.
7. Napapahalagahan ang pananatili ng kalayaan ng bansa.
8. Nakikilala ang palatandaan ng kaunlaran ng bansa.
